916 Gold 22 karat gold is equivalent to 916.7 fineness or 91.67% pure gold. Besides jewelry, some of the gold coins are 22 carat. It indicates how much of the mass of the material is actually pure gold. 22 carats divided by 24 carats equals 0.916. Multiply that by 100 and you get 91.7. This figure indicates that the product is 91.7% pure gold.

Does 916 white gold exist?
