Gold coins American Eagle

Münzenankauf - Goldmünzen American Eagle verkaufen

American Gold Eagle bullion coins were first introduced by the US Mint in the fall of 1986 as a viable alternative to other major gold bullion coins in the world. The American Gold Eagle was an instant success among buyers of gold bullion. The U.S. Mint repeated the beautiful Liberty design by Augustus St. Gaudens seen on the circulating $20.00 gold coins of the early 20th century.

American Gold Eagle Gold Coin History

Gold Eagle coins are issued every year since its introduction in 1986 in four sizes: 1 ounce of gold up to 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce. The gold coins contain a fineness of 916 gold with 91.67% gold alloyed with silver and copper to create a more wear-resistant bullion coin for investors. In addition, gold coins were minted from platinum and palladium of the series. Each coin is marked with its weight, which corresponds to the actual weight of gold in troy ounces. 1 ounce contains 31.104 grams of pure gold.

  • 1 oz: $50
  • 1/2 oz: $25
  • 1/4 oz: $10
  • 1/10 oz: $5

Throughout history, only minor changes have been made to the design of the American Gold Eagles gold coins in circulation. When first introduced by the U.S. Mint in 1986, the American Golden Eagles featured date markers on the obverse with engraved Roman numerals. This lasted until 1992, when the US Mint changed the date markings to numerals.

In addition, the American Gold Eagle is the first and only platinum coin offered by the U.S. government. These are available in 1, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/10 oz. The American Silver Eagle gold coin was also first minted in 1986 and is made of .999 silver.

The American Eagle gold coins feature the Statue of Liberty on the obverse and a soaring eagle on the reverse. American Eagle Coins offer investors a cost-effective way to add small amounts of physical gold, silver, platinum or palladium to their investment portfolio.

Investing in American Golden Eagles Gold Coins

Investing in American Gold Eagles gold coins is a great way to diversify your portfolio. These coins are made of the same precious metal as gold bars. This is explicitly guaranteed by the U.S. government. American Gold Eagles are sold in cases for easy storage. They have a high numismatic value and are a good hedge against inflation. Proven American Gold Eagle gold coins sell at a higher price, but are usually not lower than gold when they are sold.
